The 3^rd Global Illustration Award (2018) calls for Entry

 

Jointly organized by Frankfurt Buchmesse and International Information Content Industry Association (ICIA), the 3^rd Global Illustration Award (GIA2018) is officially calling for entries from 7^th March 2018. The event will close around mid-June.

 

There will be 5 categories in this competition: Book Illustration Category; Original Children’s Book Category; Advertising & Editorial Illustration Category, Scientific Illustration Category; and Theme Illustration Category. As suggested and supported by the organizing committees of Frankfurt Buchmesse (from both the host and guest countries), the topic for this year’s Theme Illustration shall be “Signs & Civilization”.

 

There are seven members on the GIA Jury, whose chairperson will be Ms. Claudia Kaiser, Vice Chairperson of Frankfurt Buchmesse. The other members hail from around the world, and are specialists in the fields of illustration, art, publication, and media. They include the Executive Director of Publishing at The Art Institute of Chicago, Ms. Victoria Fomina, renowned illustrator from Russia; Mr. Mohd Yusof Ismail, senior publisher and Malaysian illustrator; and Mr. Mingzhou Zhang, Vice Chairperson of the International Board On Books For Young People (IBBY).

 

For the five categories, about 150 entries will be selected to qualify for the long list, and one Grand Prize Award, five Gold Awards, and 10 Excellence Awards will be awarded, with prize money worth a total of €26,000. Winners will be awarded a trophy, a certificate issued by the organizing committee, and an opportunity to attend the Award Ceremony held in Frankfurt. All the entries selected for the final round will be included in the Collection of Global Illustration Award and promoted globally.

  

The 3rd Global Illustration Award Ceremony will be held at Frankfurt Buchmesse on 10th October, 2018. Awarded illustrators, renowned illustrators, illustration hobbyists, publishers, and everyone from all fields of culture shall be invited to the celebration at this largest platform of book enterprises.
